Wow....

Ford9c and Lineman have their own view of the Ford they own. Some of it's good some is not so good. But, other have had no big problem with their trucks, me being one of them.

I enjoy my 06. It tows great, but I will admit I only tow about 4000lbs. My gas mileage is about 18 combined city and highway. Towing at 70mph it drops to 12 to 13. My vibration problem was solved with replacement of my tires (warranty). The dealer even replaced one of my rims after a tech chipped it when changing my tires.

Some things I don't like.... A little less plastic in the cab would have been great. No Leather wrap on the steering wheel in the XLT. I bought a wrap an installed it, great quality and it looks factory. The manual lumber adjuster is in a hard to reach place (at least for me). The way the rear seat folds down (scab) does not give you that much more storage. I prefer the old style where the seat bottom flipped over and the back rest folded down. That gave you much more of an area to use. And last but not least, the turn signal/wiper control arm is at a weird angle. It took some getting used to.

As for the Ford vs Gm debate. Maybe that needs to go to the Ford vs the Competition forum.

It's understandable that some get tired of hearing the same rants, no matter what side you're on.

tguil was asking for input on everyone's opinion of the F-150. I know that Ford9c has had some great input in other threads, providing info to others.

Lineman appears to be very un-happy and may need to switch brands.

Let's give the guy the info he needs and put everything else on the wayside.

 

Yo ford 9c don't let these guys get under your skin most of them have their heads buried in the sand and just don't realize ford is building some real **** as their workers are a very disgruntled group of UAW auto workers and the 5.4 has some real design issues with their heads that down the road are going to cost people a lot of money and I truly beleive when the new chevy and tundra get out ford truck sales will tank even more that they are now, I used to beleive ford built the best truck and I no longer think that is true. IMO

 

You 2 need to go somewhere else to complain. Give the guy an honest response, not some long, whiney, feel sorry for me post. I too have had issues with my 04. It is one of the first trucks manufactured but is still an outstanding truck just like the 07's. You are part of a very small group of people that have had problems (just like every other brand). Enjoy your Jap truck, Bowtie, or whatever other 2nd rate truck you buy.

 

This is my third Ford and for me been the nicest truck I've had. I tow a 6,500lb boat and have no problem pulling them big hills. Sure it felt a little under power when I first got it, but the Edge fixed that. I had it in for warranty work a few times but the dealer fixed everything without hassle. This is the smoothest truck I've ridden in and owned (very solid). <XX>

you guys crack me up...this is only my 2nd or 3rd time to the f150 foru because im a superduty guy myself...i also have the 5.4 in my 06 f250 but i do no towing...seriously...you buy the truck for you needs...the couple of guys on here that are b-tching and complaining about there truck need to go somewhere else because this is a FORD forum...i swear when i looked at these posts was lisnting to a woman...if you dont like it go somewhere else but dont come here bad mouthing ford...as for the 150 fx4 that was the TOPIC...itll be a great truck...my buddy has one and i love it...just a little to small ofr my likeings...i hear everyday aroud this area that the FORD F150 is the #1 selling vehicle...NOT TRUCK...VEHICLE...so obvioisley they are doing something right. if you want to go buy a jap truck ...well than you not getting a real truck...talk crap all oyu want but dont try a discourage someone...F150 are great and they are #1 for a reason...F-ck the hemi and f-ck the vortec...this is a ford sight not dodge or chevy ... have a nice day

o and by the way lets see chevy or dodge compete with fords new f450 pick up with the new 6.4 twin turbo diesel. from what i remember its rated somewhere around 7000lbs for payload...your right fords trucks are going to have to start competing with toyota and nissan...better close those plants now...its inevitable

 

Oh ya lets see another international diesel to go along with the 6.0 POS lemon ford has now and I am sure a f-450 is going to be a real hot seller you must be some sort of f--k up?? Check back here in a year or less and tell me how good ford is doing???

I've drove a lot of different trucks and some of them are bad and some are good.....there is some bad in all of them....but you are just full of crap, crying and complaining....if you don't like FORD, no one has asked you to buy one! sounds more like a case of "sour grapes" than anything. anybody else here agree....by the way, the FX4 is one bad@55 truck

 

I do not love to bitch and whine I am just trying to give the man an honest look at what he is about to spend 32K and not blow smoke up his ***, what you folks need to do is go to blueovalnews.com it will be a real eye opener what some of those forums have to say and these are from the people that build ford trucks, granted they are not a very happy group now so you can just imagine what quailty conrol is going to be??

 

Some of you guys seem to be real sensitive about ford overall. If you really believe their products are so great what do you care what my opinion is. For me the reality between what ford preaches and what they actually produce is what pisses me off. If they were more honest about what they are putting out there, I don't think I would be half as disappointed. But hey, its Friday! Everyone have a nice weekend and I'll see you back here Monday.

 

If I wanted to hear a union workers sob story, I would go to the shipyard and listen to them whine. If the UAW for Ford are not producing trucks to spec, they will be fired. Simple. No one forced them to pick that job as there bread and butter winner.

I went to the site you suggested and I would quote them, but they state that you have to have the originators permission. So, I paraphrase. "Hey Ford CEO, take a 10 million paycut from 20 mil to 10 mil so I can get a $250,000 buyout instead of the $150,000 buyout"....wow, I work 80+ hours a week when I am deployed and I make ~$40,000 a year (>6 years in US Navy). How do I get a job like that? The fact that these people have an attitude at all scares me.

Rather than speculate about how quality may be affected on their attitude, why not give facts as to how the quality is right now? My truck is awesome, no problems at all.

 

same here ...not one proplem so far with my truck and my previous 97 f150 5.4 had no problems at 140,000 ... the fx4 thats was origianlly debated about should be an excellant truck...it probably wont have the get up and go as the hemi but itll get the job done and look great at the same time...this thread need to be shut down...not only because some poeple want to go from giving opinions and answering questions to turning into a bunch of woman on there period and start complaining about everything under the sun...ALL TRUCK HAVE THERE PROBLEMS...whether its chevy dodge ford nissan toyota or whatever else...they all have some problems...if its built my man or machine itll have flaws...im not trying to sound like an ********* but some of the workers that i came in contact with that work at the GM plant here my by house deservve to get laid off...they should get it with no money...they go to work and do nothing and get paid 30 bucks an hour to do it...and then expect soemthing when they are told that they have to take a buy out or are forced into early retirement...thats my opinion but dont take offense to it because nt all of them are like that....concering the origian post...i hope you get what you want and keep us posted
