I have been planning replacing on replacing the radio in my 77 truck - the am quit. I have been looking around for something that will drive a CD changer or at least AM/FM casette. I was wondering which radios will interchange without any cutting. I have found several on ebay and the internet that look like they will fit that are listed for 73 Mustangs. I have also found ones listed for my truck but the same ones listed for the Mustangs are less with the same features. Some of the ones listed for some of the Chevys are even less. What I want to know is which radios will fit in without cutting the dash from which models. I don't care about brand I am just trying to broaden my search. I think that there are so many people making ones for the Mustangs that the prices have been moved down but I can only find one company making them for the 77 Ford truck so they can keep the prices high. The difference is about $200 so it would be great to spend the difference on something else. Thanks.
My 76 f350 has a JVC cassete stereo in it, it looks like just a universial radio.. I junk a 77 f250 that had a pionier super tuner in it, it also looked like a universel radio. Neither dash was cut, but I don't know where they were purchached as they were in the trucks when I purchased them. Tim
The only great cassette for these trucks is the pioneer.
Be very careful on Ebay. there are tons of scam artists.
I have disputed 4 radios this year because they will only fit cars... *when the seller said they will fit trucks*
The trucks require a flat mounting radio.
*NOTE Be Careful:Most Ford radios are an offset mount.
The Pioneer's have RCA inputs for Cd players or MP3 Player to attach to.
