Lower rad hose

While I was under my truck changing the oil, I noticed the lower radiatior hose was against the steering box. There was a nice rub mark where it touches. I cut a piece of old hose and zip tied it over the spot. Anybody else notice this? rs

You didn't mention what year truck you have. But yes, this has been seen before. On my 06, the lower radiator hose has a wear sleeve from the factory.

It's an '03 with 5.4. And no wear sleeve. I'll have to keep an eye on it.

Most of the ones I've seen with that problem were on 6.0Ls.
I've replaced quite a few of them.
The new hose from Ford is shaped a bit different and is a bit further away from the steering box.
