P1249 codes help
I seem to throw a P1249 code when towing a small trailer lately, (2500lbs max.) My truck runs fine and the light will go off after a few runs. trailer or no trailer. Is this something I am doing(running hard accel...hills...ect.)
Truck did the samething last winter a couple times and is starting to do it now, Could it be temp related?
I have a hypertech 3 program, no other mods. 195,000 miles. runs great other then the SES light.

From the code 1249, it has something to do with your wastegate.. I am sure someone will have a solution for ya here on the forum.. Here is a complete list of codes if you are interested... https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...sel_Codes.html

basically with that code the pcm saw an overboost condition. check and see if the wastegate hose is on the actuator and make sure the hose isnt broken or pinched. also try to manually work the actuator by using a vacuum pump with about 15 to 20 inches of vacuum

I have a Hypertech too. I did not throw a ses light but I would get the code, maybe I didn't stay on it long enough to throw a light, just a code. I only got it when I kicked it down in high rpm's. I have since backed off to stage 2 and I think it runs the same just doesn't let the motor rev as high, which must create more boost? My mileage seems to be about the same too.
