I bought a intermtn wiper set up off of ebay and as luck would have it the switch isn't good( govn'r is ok). Good news is I can buy the switch new. Now I did some quick price checks...
Bronco G.Y. =$65
NPD = $54
LMC = $44
Did I miss anyone? Dennis Carpenter didn't have one listed in their catalog( that I could find) Seems to be quite the range in pricing for a switch that is probably manufactured by the same outfit. I will check if NAPA carries it. Are these switches identical or is there a difference in quality to justify the difference in price?
If I remember you have to change the wiring configuration if you are installing a intermittent wiper on a non intermittent truck.There is a three prong receptacle on the switch, but the plug has only two wires. Installing the two pin plug on one set of pins may work one way but not the other way. What I am saying is, did you try reversing the plug to see if the wipers worked.
I ordered one off of ebay and discovered that it did not work. Reversing the plug allowed the wipers to work.
No wiring changes were needed on mine. Everything worked fine, plug and play, with the exception of the intermitten or delay setting. I traced this fault to the switch, the variable resistor was open. I went as far as taking the switch apart but once the contacts are broken, there not much you can do that will last.
I need a switch, with what I paid on ebay + the price of a new switch, I still think its a reasonable price to pay for int. wipers.
Fatherdoug....from same years Non-intermittent to same years Intermittent it is plug & Play.
ie: 77-79 Non-Intermittent to 77-79 Intermittent.

The problem..... as stated above is when you try to install them in alternate years in wiring.
80's into a 73-79
73-79's in a pre-73
There is an FTE Tech article on pre-73 trucks.
Cool, thanks Dennis, been wondering about that myself for well over a year now. :)
Thought about figuring out a way to make hi slow like lo and lo real-slow. ;)
But this will be "cooler" at the least. :)
And maybe save my wiper motor too?
