PCM or CPS

PCM or CPS
Pulling down the drive tonight, the truck surged a little and the check engine light came on. I have a programer in it, so I checked the codes and it came up a P0603, PCM. I know sometimes a programer will cause this, although it has never done it before. Will a CPS do this, and if so, will it throw a code ? After I pulled in the garage and came back out a few minutes later, the check engine light went off. I went in a cleared the codes and set it back to stock program.

I don't have a programmer but I would say since you reset it, drive on and see if it occurs again. If it does, uninstall the programmer and see if it reoccurs. Then start the "Hunt". You do have a spare CPS right?

I have a programmer and my CPS went bad a few days ago. The CPS DID throw its own code. I also have the constant "PCM memory" code. The CPS code is something like "intermittent CPS communication" or similar. But it DOES throw its own code.

Thanks scooter80, I put the program back to stock, started the truck and the service engine light went off, and I went in a cleared the codes. I guess I will drive it a little and hope for best.
