Looking for some direction on performance mods
more power for towing and fun lol but fuel ecomoney is my main reason now
with that being said what would you suggest for a good cheap air intake so if i want to go to the 120 hp setting,I wont blow up my truck and also I
dont want to replace my stock exhaust system if need be so i was wondering
what the Aero-Turbine Performance Diesel 3535 Muffler would be like and if it would fit my stock system and if not what do you suggest for me to get, keeping in mind that money is a factor.Any help and a good setup would be great. And do anyone know where in Canada to get an airintake and exhaust system say from the cat back fairly cheap.
P.S what is the stock exhaust size on my truck 3 or 3.5 inch?
Thanks Roger
P.S. I also run B50 or higher in mine.
I agree you need gauges, particular if you are going to run higher then the first setting over stock, which I believe for you is 60hp. If your just going to get the pyro gauge and not any of the others, then I would go with the analog gauges and just choice one that has the looks that you want and has a good reputation for reliability. If you think you might want other gauges, boost, tranny temp, voltage, or if your plannin on gettin bigger aftermarket tires, then I would go with a digital monitor. Now quadzilla makes a digital monitor that alot of people seem to like, but most monitors out there are able to monitor other performance systems other then their own. The selling point for me is considering everything is working right; you can set into your monitor when you want the monitor to back down if your egt temps. reach a certain point(1250 by default on mine) or if your tranny temp reaches too high(180 by default on mine). Now most have that egt function, the tranny temp one is one that you will have to see if your module has that ability otherwise your gauge will only be able to monitor it and not defuel. All in all, your digital monitors are the most expensive, unless your getting 3 analog gauges, then your roughly gettin close to being in the same price range, particular when it is recommended at the very least you have a pyro gauge, which based on my research tends to be the most expensive among the analog gauges. However for roughly the price of 3 analog gauges(assuming bought new), you can get a digital monitor that has alot more then just three gauges in it, although you can only display 4 at a time and the egt is fixed as one of the parameters shown all the time, so you can usually only just change 3 parameters to be shown. However, after that long babble, you do need atleast an egt gauge if you plan on runnin it more then just at the first setting and plan on doing it safely.
