Edelbrock intake

Edelbrock intake

I have a 1985 302 ford motor that has smog and the throttle body carb i live in arkansas and we have no smog controls here I'm taking the carb and manifold off with all the smog controls also and putting a edelbrock 600 carb do i need a intake with egr or not hope someone can help thank you michael.

if you dont have to worry about emissions then go non egr

You can strip ALL EGR, i have done this and everything is fine, if you get a check engine light, just pull the bulb out and keep an eye on your oil pressure and temperature as your own personal "check engine light". Now if you have an 02 sensor, you will need to keep that, but since you have an 85, and of course a carb, no worries in that neighborhood.
