Pulse Adapter?

When using the pulse adapter where do you reference the light to. The center of the magnetic pickup or what?

94 ford 7.3l TD IDI with a timing tab mounted passenger side on the balancer. It has 2 holes in it. The furthest to the passenger side is for the magnetic pickup. No number or other marks on it anywhere.

8 degrees is right at the lower edge of the timing tab. 1/2" down from the 0 mark.

Thank you. The pump instruction say it is not necessary to dyamic time the pump. Do you still recommend I get it checked?
