What are the best TRUCK shocks for 04 explorer?

I have been looking everywhere for bilsteins or edelbrock shocks for my 04 explorer. Will any previous year bilstein shock fit on this truck? or am i outta luck? Any info would be much appreciated!

To add to that, how long can we expect the factory shocks to last? I have a 2002 Explorer that is starting to "losen-up" a little. Any thoughts...

Is it a 4X4 and what kind of ride are you looking for? If its 4x4, you might go for bilsteins or tokicos. It its 4x2 and you just want to duplicate the stock ride feel, you might go for KYB. I've had good luck with the KYB's I used to replace the stock shocks and have over 60K miles on them without a need to replace. I forget if KYB had a line of more aggressive shocks like Bilstein or Tokico.

If you are doing a lot of towing, especially with something over 3000 lbs, you might do something altogether different, including getting a weight distributing hitch.

Ive got the 4x4 and want aggressive shocks but bilstein does not make shocks for the 04 model year explorer, which is why i was asking if a previous year explorer bilstein will fit.
