I attempted to change my steering wheel in my 1973 f100 automatic. When I put the new wheel on I could'nt start the engine. What is the skinny on this neutral safety switch? Did I cause something to come loose. I spent an hour trying to put every thing back, but still no luck. Thanks
Have you tried moving the shifter around when trying to crank it?
The neutral safety switch should be on the bottom of the column near the firewall. Just changing the steering wheel shouldn't have effected that.
I am guessing the battery is still up from when you were working on the steering wheel and the dome light didn't run it down and the battery connections are good.
also make sure you did everything right, I had someone put a new steering wheel in his truck and he didnt line something up so the truck would be in reverse in "park" yeah I dont think he was to bright...you didnt do something like that did you? (not trying to be mean sorry if it sounds like that)
