hey guys, the truck in question is my 86 f150. i bought it a couple of weeks ago. it came with, what i think is, a butt ugly windshield visor.
i think it says Lund on it, it looks like a factory thing, i've seen a few other 80-96s around with them. its held on with round crome bolts or rivits or something.
when driving in the rain water droplets drip out from under the roof and windshield trim piece. id like to remove it to fill the holes in.
how do i remove this damn thing, i pulled the trim piece off inside the cab and there are no bolts or anything stuck through the roof panel, i tried turning the round things that secure it to the roof they wouldent budge.
i'm almost tempted to smash it off with a hammer, but the truck is in good shape i dont want to hurt it.
The chrome round things are caps that go over the bolt heads. Take a pair of pliers and pull the caps off, then you will see the screws holding the visor on.Or at least this is how mine is. hope this helps. Dave
Tuffy is right, they usually have cosmetic covers on the screws. What do you plan on doing with that visor when you get it off. My truck had one, but the PO swiped it and I would like to put another one on. Any chance I could talk/pay you into shipping it to me if you get it off in one piece.
I have a sunvisor from my 86 F150 in good shape i'll sell it for 80.00 that includeds Shipping cost. Drop me an email if interested at: bert.1959@comcast.net I can send picture to. I will only ship it to the lower 48 States, USA
