Still having tranny issues
I've had a couple of other threads, but I still can't figure out what is going on with my tranny.
There are no unusual grinding sounds or performance issues.
The trouble is the tranny kicks down much too easily with almost no throttle applied, even when coasting down hill. Under acceleration it shifts fine, it is only while cruising between 25 - 45 where the tranny kicks down too easily.
What I have done:
- Changed the tranny fluid and replaced the filter. NO shavings or chips found.
- Vacuum is 25 Hg.
- Changed the modulator. It had a good dent in the side, but appeared to be functional.
A guy at work said it could be the throttle line kick down. I could not find a description in the Chilton’s or Haynes on what to look for on the truck. Does anyone have a picture or disription of what right should look like.
I was thinking it could be a valve body issue.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, Jaysen
