Has anyone else run into having to change multiple coil packs?
I just had to change another one, this will be 5 in the last 5 months. I have had the truck checked out by a buddy of mine who happens to be the Service Mgr at a local Ford dealer, and he says that there is nothing else wrong with the truck that would effect the coil packs.
man you are a life saver, that is an awesome deal. I buy everything of ebay and didnt look there 1st. I bought 1 from ford and will be picking up a set of 10 from ebay. Man I love this site

eBay has 'em cheap too...
These are for 10 but its a heck of a lot cheaper and you'll have spares. :b
I've replaced 6 COPs on my 99 V-10 (so far) although none in the last 12 months. I only replace them when they fail. As you discovered, aftermarket parts are much more affordable. I am partial to NAPA's $60 replacement.
Well its not the repalcement cost as an issue but the fact that i just had to replace one yesterday and it was the second time that #8 went, and it was an after market one, thanks to akford351 i will be getting the set off e-bay now, i didn't even think of checking there first. I think that factory parts are going to be the best way to go on this issue, thanks guys
Word has it that if one is weak it will affect others? So, lots of times it's multible replacements. My 02 the first time was 3, then another one, then another one? What's crazy is that I know and the dealer I tell it's another one and they still charge for the diagnostics? My 99 had no such problem in 100K
I have done four so far #4 #6 #3 #5
i now have overheating issues
looks like a gasket of some sort has failed
Do all these Ford trucks fail constantly?
hay whats up the boots if the problem water can get in and short the plug but i had one were #1 was missing and it on had 40,000km and there was no water contamination the coil was the problem so i pulled the plug and it looked ok not crackded or worn it looked good put it together and had a miss in #1 but no as bad replased the plug all good it was a 250 with a 5.4 2003.
