I recently got a set of five lights, with template for drilling. But not a template for placement. I need to know the specs on distance between and such. Does anybody have these?
Don't know if you have a new or older style (or even if it makes a difference) but I had this booked marked from before. It was done on a 04-earlier truck. http://www. emotoman .com/f250/lights/f250lights.htm
Next came the very important part... measuring! Just trying to find center on the weird shaped roof was a challenge. Once the center was determined we used the following measurements:
All lights 5.5" from windshield rubber to center of plug hole of light. (7/8" hole)
The lights on either side of center are 8" to hole center
I used the same distances between the lights but 4 inches from the end of the windshield rubber (where the rubber meets the rooftop) to the edge of the lights. (works out to be just about the same as the plug hole I think) I felt it was easier to measure off and put a strip of 1/4 inch masking tape as the guide line then just have all of the lights go right up to the edge of that line.
Suggestion: BEFORE you drill, place the lights physically on the exact location you plan on installing them and then step back and take a good look to see if they look symetrical and to your liking....just in case.
