Newbie question, but I searched and didn't find this directly addressed. I'm restoring a '53 F100 and would like a SLIGHTLY lowered ride height. I'm familiar with reversed springs, and dropped axle, etc., but don't know whether I want 1", 3", 5", or whatever. I don't want a "slammed" look, I'm going for NEAR stock. Also don't want a lot of drivability problems. Can people post post pics of stock height, and various levels of lowering? (Realize wheel size is a variable as well.)Also need to know at what level steering mods might be needed. Might be a good "sticky" topic...
I used the reversed eye monos in the back. Thats suspost to lower it 4 inches. Then I flipped the front mount upside down (still talking about the rear spring) that lowered it another 1-2 inches. On the front is a Volare, I just cranked it down till it matched the front. I was trying for level, no rake. Anyway, if you want to see what 5-6 inches lowered looks like, check my gallery. Hope that helps some.
Great looking truck. It does help. I'm not going for that low. I love yours, but going for a little closer to stock. Figure if I'm going to keep the 215 6 cyl. and "3 on the tree" I need to keep the whole effect! By comparison I suspect I'll want 2-3" lower than stock setup. What size wheel/tire did you use? I'm going with whitewalls and those look perfect.
