352 to whatever need help

I have a 67 f100 with a 352 and I have been planing to rebuild to a 390 for some time because I want the truck to look stock accept the headers and intake ecc. so I went out today and talked to three shops and each said something else. The first two said that the cylinder walls would be to thin and that the 390 block was cast different than the 352.The third looked on the computer and said that they were the same casting and suggested 390 60over with flat head pistons and port and polish heads and soforth. I was also thing 427 maybe if it was the same block and I could find the parts.I would like 350-400hp on 93 pump gas and I would to use my 352 block and heads.any help would be great also I was thinking about a auto trans maybe four speed auto insted of c6 any thoughts

Block has to be bored .050" over and you will need a 390 crank, rods and new pistons.

This is easy.

Bore your block to 4.050". Yes, it'll handle it. Get your 390 crank, rods, and pistons like Bear said.

Then, for all intents and purposes, you'll have a 390.

Then to get your HP, port your heads, install a good cam.

There's a whole art of matching the cam to the compression ratio, so you'll have to do some research. Here's some links to get you started.

Also do some reading in the forum, come back and ask if you have questions.
