CC switch recall
Has anybody had their Ranger recalled for the new type cruise control switch. I have heard nothing and according to the NHTSB site 1998-2002 Rangers are listed as haveing the bad sw. mine is a 2002. Just wondering.

Just buy the recall kit from your local ford dealer.. it's like twenty bucks. DO NOT buy the fused wire.. only buy the revised switch/harness.
Very easily to install.. unplug the old one.. unscrew it (15mm wrench).. put a drop of brake fluid inside the new one (the end that screws into the M/C.. NOT the electrical connector)... screw it in where the old one was and snug it tight (22mm or 7/8" wrench) but not TOO tight... plug in new harness on switch, and into the old plug on the old wiring...
2 minutes to do... and can save you from burning your house down.
If ford adds your vehicle to the recall list in the future, just submit your receipt and you should (eventually) get reimbursed.
