Did the original '59 have a button or a lock on the glove box? I have nothing right now, just a hole with two small pin holes on either side of it in the glove box door where something needs to go!
Does anyone have a button or lock? Or should I see a automobile locksmith about it?
Hi Daryl,
The '57-'60 glove box door only came with a **** (black for '57-'58, and white (ivory) for '59-'60). The door itself is spring loaded on each side to keep it closed.
Hope this helps you.
Daryl, I have a white button on my 59/60?. Hope that helps. BTW thank you for the e-mails and the other info I appreciate it very much. Check out the post on vin for possible parts truck!
Thank you again, Matt
THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE FEEDBACK!!! I'm gonna try to see if a local auto locksmith has a locking lock with a push-button opener. I like the idea of being able to lock my glovebox (cell phone, etc). If not, I'll shoot for a satin billet **** to match the rest of the switch *****.
Thanks once again to everyone for the help; "FTE to my rescue"--again!
