Plugs are not an issue, they are only about $20-30. If its fed off the panel from the house open the panel door and find the breaker for the garage. If its a double pole breaker, you have 230V to the garage. If its a double pole, also post back the number on the little "handle" that will be the number amps that is being fed to the garage.
