oil switch 2 synthetic

my 2004 powerstroke has 58000 miles and runs on motorcraft oil its whole life could i switch to royal purple or redline 15 40 synthetic without leakes or any other problems thanks

Should be no problem at all. Just be aware that Redline is not API certified, if you care about such things.

Also if the oil is not API certified Ford is liable to void your warranty

YOu have been a using a quality oil since new... so why change to a non-API certified oil?

Look for a synthetic that is CI4+ API certified or the new CJ4 API certified.

Synthetic oil will probably be 5W-40 and will work great. I switched at 50,000 miles from Motorcraft 15W-40 to Rotella-Syn 5W-40 with great results.

Bottom line... use a name brand oil of your choice and look only for the API industry certification of CI4+.

Use Racor, Motorcraft or Fram (All Racor made) for better filtration and fit.
