Has anyone with a supercrew ever wanted there doors to unlock when the truck is turned off? I asked the dealer if they could get this done and they said it is not possible, frankly I find it annoying that the doors don't unlock when the truck is turned off. Just wondering if anyone else thinks the same way.
This topic has been discussed a few times. The only potential option is an aftermarket alarm setup which would allow you to 'mess' with the wiring. I think I've read where at least one particular variety works, but it won't be cheap. You'll probably just have to get used to having to hit the unlock button ... just like the rest of us.
Thanks G, I thought I had to do that but I thought I would ask. Still I would like a ford rep to listen to this thread, GM has this on all there vehicles.
Yep, I also got a Viper alarm/starter and had them wire it to lock and unlock my doors. I did have to turn off the oem auto lock because they both would lock the doors and I didn't want to wear out the actuators.
you can also get an upgrade to your keyless entry to full alarm system, you will be able to use the original remote, plus if you got a keypad, works great too... simple fact that you can still unlock/disarm and lock/arm the system without your remote....hopefully this help, oh BTW it will resolve your problem about the door locks too....

The oem alarm came with two new remotes when I looked at it and the oem remotes wouldn't work with it. I was going to get it at first but it an oem aftermarket system anyways and I've had good luck with DEI. So I bought a viper instead.
