I,ve got a 65 f100 flairside and are looking for pics of what the original bumper would look like. right know the truck has a home made utility style bumper. I would like to switch back but would like to know what the original looks like on the truck. any pics would help. Thanks...
According to my 'Illustrated Facts and Features Manual' 65 came with the channel type rear bumper for the 'flareside', and appears they only came painted. The 'stylesides' were standard type bumpers and came chrome, or painted. Think will find many of the utility type bumpers do not have the bumper brackets so it considering swap need to keep eye out for set.
Stepsides used the same rear bumpers from 1953-72. They are available from most aftermarket suppliers in painted, chrome, or stainless steel. The mounting brackets are also the same. That gives you lots of choices for what look you want and what price range your budget dictates.
Thanks for the help. I have seen the bumpers listed in catalogs and are not priced to bad. I will have to look at the galleries and check out some other trucks.....
