thought you guys would like my to some progress.
i think everyone should let others know their progress.
thanks for the update. i have only been able to muster mere hours with mine lately. i was able to take the seats out and start patching some bad metal.
... I remember wire brushing my springs. Even so its 17 years ago. You are on your own, brushing inch by inch and see and the minutes'n'hours fly by. You see more leafs on the shop floor and you know how many more hours you are going to spend. And there's more of these never ending jobs. After all I did enjoy all that. I can say I have touched, worked, sanded, sand-blasted, wire brushed, ... every part on my truck myself.
What are you going to put between the leafs ? There's this special anti squeak bands that these Classic Truck places sell. I just went with lotsa grease, but guess that'll go after a while. We'll see.
I did my rear springs, i wired them on the wire wheel on the grinder and then I painted them with Zero Rust and replaced them with teflon liners between the leafs. Came out great. Ed ke6bnl
i wasnt going to put anything between the leafs.
but now you guys got me thinking i should.
i would like ot know how much and hwere to get the teflon liner also.
... I guess you can get the Teflon Liner at any of the major F100 sources. I just checked John's F-Fun Hundreds (www.f100.com) catalog. He sells the 20 fott roll at $10 each. Guess that is a good investment (even so I did not buy it 17 years ago).
