Whats the safe rpm limits on these engines? Ive gota 78 with a 351m, 6000 on rebuild, decent cam but thats all. What should I be backing off at?

I keep it under 4000 in my Bronco but have pulled a few 6000+ in mud holes & jumps. No problems out of the motor but did manage to move the crossmember back almost an inch from from hitting an almost a vertical hill.

Ive been letting it shift bout 3500, 4000 under hard throttle, just wanted to make sure I was ok. Thanks.

I know my buddy is turning atleast 6000 at the truck pulls, I wouldnt worry to much aslong as theres oil pressure. Ive heard from many old timers & read a few places that 10lbs for every 1000rpms you should be safe.

cruising down the highway, 3000 rpm im pushing about 65-75 psi, but at idle, it drop to 10-15.

Crack them RPM'S up till you see dents in the hood!!! Then bring er down 100 rpm's!

That's a safe limit!

i take my truck with a 351m up too about 5500rpm with no problems yet.
