I finally got the lift done and the tires are on!!! And it looks....well rather gnarley. I like it... Have a look at the pics and let me know how I did. And to answer those questions about power...well that 429 spins those tires really well...and yeah..it will still smoke both the rears. I ...uh...won't be doing any more of that.. My slip yokes are a tad loose and worn...and I don't need to be tossing a drive line. Perhaps I can go back to standing on the loud pedal after the big drive lines get fabricated.
I am really finding this truck to be very amusing. I have pulled in parking lots at the store and gas station and get so many compliments. I stopped at the gas station and parked at the pump right next to a 05 Chev 2500 diesel. His truck still smelled new. So a guy and his wife walked by..eyeballing my pickup...and said "wow...NICE RIDE".... The poor fellow with the new Chev seemed rather put out. I guess after being 30 yrs old....it is still a great looking truck...What the heck...we all have them...we know that! Fords of this vintage have such a wonderful body style that they carry all the personality and class that the new stuff just can't make happen.
Now I realize why I don't come in this section that often. Too many beautiful trucks to be jealous over!
Great Job!
If I start looking to buy a 70's Ford now, I'm gonna have to hold you partially responsible
I have been stuck on these 70's highboys since they hit the market. I just love the body style and everything about them. Yes, I think you should look to buy one.
