problem please help

i was driving and i saw the thing that sys my mles and temp just flashing so i was like wtf then i saw my lights were on so i turned them off then it quit blinking and went off completly, i go back and put the key in and it flashes all those weird symbols things or w/e then goes right off before showing the miles or temp..

i'm not quite sure I follow what your saying but all those symbols are suppose to light up when you first turn the ignition on.

I talked to my dad about it, he said it sounds like a short or something in a wire in the dash so tommorow he's going to call Ford and make an appointment and take it in soon..
