transmission help!!!!!!
i have a 95 f-150 straight 6 5-sp and my transmission seems to be going out when i start the truck and deep it in neutral there is a horrible grinding noise and it is worse when i put my ear to the shifter... i just changed my fluid and the noise went away for about a week and a half but now its back... i really just need to know what kind of tranny is in it cause im missin my inspection plate so if anyone knows please tell me i really need to know

You probally have the Mazda M5OD R2, 5sp. manual. These can go bad, as they are the lighter duty manuals, but can go for long time as well. Are you sure the grinding noise is not the throw-out bearing grinding or clutch related. If you drive it in other gears does it make noise while moving? I know my truck in nutural does make a slight grinding noise (vert faint) from the bearing when in nuetrual and clutch not pressed.

I'm going to bet on his noise being something other then tranny.

Did you use ATF or 10/30 in the tranny?
