Hello to everyone. I am new here. But from what I have read and experiance with other types of sights like this. People are always really great and helpful.
I have a 96 Ford explorer 4x4 sport. with the 4.0 V6.
When I hit the brakes sometimes you here a motor noise like a whine. And the brake peddel vibrates. and the Abs light came on. The Truck stops fine, but it makes noise evry now and then.
I don't have a code reader for the Abs yet.
So I was wondering if any one might have an idea of what it might be?
The motor noise you're hearing is actually the ABS coming on. It could be due to speed sensor drop-outs (making it think a wheel is locked up with it isn't) or some electric ABS problem. There really is nothing else we can help you with without knowing those codes.
A common problem on these is the rear speed sensor mounted in the rear differential, however it usually doesn't cause this specific problem.
