ive been posting about all the tranny probs. ive had with my 92 f350 e4od.
what i believe is causing my probs is the fipl.ive owned the truck for 6 yrs.when i bought it there was a code 23 which is still there.the fipl has been changed and calibrated several times.
ive just had a rebuilt tranny and torque converter installed and dont want it to tear up.my fipl is within specs.1.00 idle and 3.94 wot.code 23 is still there.anyone have any ideas where else i should look for the prob? it seems to me if the fipl is within specs.something else is causing the 23 to stay set
Does the truck hunt between lock and unlock at cruise speed? I'm looking at this problem on an 89 E350. It has a code 23. The scanner says it is adjusted correct. Where did you get the voltage specs? I am going to get another sensor and try that. Don
The info I have calls for 1.05-1.1 for the idle position, to 3.8-4.3 WOT. Most electrical type problems especially intermittent ones, are due to corroded or loose connections, If you get a smooth consistant increase in voltage when you are checking the FIPL movement from idle to WOT, its probably OK, but take the connector plugs apart, check the pins for being dirty or corroded, give them all a cleaning or polishing with a fine file, sandpaper or whatever works, WD 40 or LPS 1 or WHY for cleaning, then a good silicone grease on the connector to keep out moisture and ensuring a good electrical connection for years of trouble free performance.
