This is a new one on me but any signall problems I have had have always been bad ground issues solved by replacing corroded pigtails

Well if the switch is faulty and allowing power to the TS circuit then it is probably a positional thing.

How about the hazard lights..do they work with the key on or off ?

It should still have a hazard light switch on the dash regardless of the options.

What is happening is you're getting power to the TS switch when you shouldn't be.

The ignition switch is the thing that usually gets it there.

You need to find that source of power.

Maybe remove the ignition switch and do a fault test on it.

This one is for a 78....Yours will be different.
