Help! anyone taking zoloft?

ill make this short as possible. im taking 25mg a night for anxiety/panic attacks, ive been taking it for a week now and seem to be getting better. on friday though my doctor uped my dose to 50 mg a night, i took my first dose of that last night and 2 hours later i felt like i had a knot in my throat and was having difficulty swallowing. finally after several hours i fell asleep and when i woke up i still had the same symptoms as i do now almost 24 hours later. i know one of the side effects is dry mouth but does this sound like my throat is dried out? im drinking plenty of water but doesnt seem to help. just curious if anyone out there knows whats going on, thanks

I never liked Zoloft.

I prefer Ativan 1.0 mg Sub-Lingual (Place it under your tongue)

works in less than 2 minutes.

Call your doctor ASAP as the dose change is probably causing the problems.

Sounds like a normal ramping up of dosage, better call the doc. Back in the 90's, I was on 100mg/day and they took over a month to get me there. I also recall being told that the effects wouldn't really kick in until 6-8 weeks.

Must be one versitile drug. I was on it for depression, a guy I knew was on it for OCD and it's also used for anxiety attacks.

The sexual dysfunction it causes is why I stopped taking it.

Could be an allergic reaction. The only thing I'm allergic to makes my throat feel like it's closing up.

Furball voiced my greatest concern. Allergies don't especially show up right away. Call that Doc pronto!

smokinjohn could you PM me the dysfunction symptoms you had so i can see if its what i have?

i went to a different doctor last week and finally after a month and a half they might know whats wrong with me, they think ive been suffering with a hernia. and worrying about it all this time probably brought on the anxiety attacks. im gonna talk to my doctor tomorrow morning and see what the deal is with my throat, hopefully nothing serious because it already scares the crap out of me.
