Simple question
I had the Valve Cover gaskets replaced on my 1997 Ford F-150 XLT S/C 4X4 4.6L V-8 which is now just fine, however now that the work was done I scoped out the engine compartment pretty throughly just to see if anything was out of the ordinary after the work. I noticed a pice of 1/2 inch black rubber hose streching up near the battery area not connected to anything on that end. I traced it back to the front axel where it connects to. Is this just as simple as a vent tube, or did the mechanic forget to connect the open end to where it might belong? I never noticed it before, but also I never looked for it before either.
