2003 F150 Auto Trans help
I have recently purchaseda 2003 F150 FX4 with a 4.6 Automatic. I am experiencing a problem with what I believe is my transmission if I floor it and take it to the red line, the truck will chirp into the next gear. the shift feels fairly rough. The weather here in ohio is now turning colder and the past few days it has quieted down and i havent heard it and it seems to be shifting better. So now I am wondering if it could be a loose drive belt that is slipping at a high RPM. It shifts at around 5200 RPM. Has anyone experinced this or have a remedy for it before I take it in to have it looked at????

as for the tranny feeling rough in shifting,i had the same problem exactly and i decided to try lucas tranny additive.within a very short period of time my tranny shifts very smoothly.according to the bottle it is safe for new or used trannys.

LOL!!!! I likeLxMan1's Advice just pretend it's the back tires.... LOL.... I have the same thing with my 1998 F-150. with a brand new trans. It has always done this even before the new trans..Just keep barking the tires and drive the daylight out of it...
