Tranny or?? suggestions

I had my transmission (on my 93 F350) rebuilt a few months ago. I just recently noticed now when I drive steady at 40 hph or 60 (freeway) with a little stress (not much) it likes to down shift to a lower gear. Tranny shop called and siad they feel it's a computer or one of many things over than the tranny since that is fine (?)...any ideas? I hardly drive it just a week-end truck.. I could sure use some advise, since I'm not sure trany shop is shurking their responsibilities or if it could really be something else...

Many overdrive transmissions have a problem with that..many people call it hunting for gears..that why manufacturer's startin makin the buttons to turn off overdrive. If you look around many people on here use that button when they are in traffic around 40 mph. The tranny is tryin to go into the higest gear possilbe while maintaining speed. Around different speeds you can find many transmissions that do this. I find that a lil extra throttle or turning the overdrive off help. Other than that, if it really is a problem..it could be the tranny control module. Or I have found that sometimes speed sensors can cause the computer to be confused and switch gears often.

Cyber, that makes a lot of sense, I'll ask them to check the control module but they'll most likely blow me off. Didn't think aboiut turning off the OD Thanks!!

The vehicle speed sensor is on the transmission. Usually driver side, it has a lil bracket with one bolt in it holding it in, after you take the bolt out, just pull it out. If it's a 4wd, some of the speed sensors are on the rear differential.
