Power Steering Hoses

I am in the process of putting a rack and pinion steering in my 48 F1. I am going to finish it this weekend. Putting in new grant steering wheel, chrome ididit column and the rack and pinion from no limit engineering. Going together pretty good after i got the correct directions. I did not buy any hoses from them because i can get them made locally. The problem i am having is what size are the hose ends. No limit could't or would't tell me the size. They want $160.00 for a set. I should be able to get cheaper around here.
Would anyone out there happen to know what size the hose ends would be?

I will try to have some pictures and a step by step report on how this has gone as soon as i get it back on the road. The Chrome column looks outstanding.

Thanks

Terry

I don't know the sizes, but No Limit really bites for not giving you the info.

i had the same problem when doing mine. i finally just took the rack and pinion off and took it to the place that made my hoses, and let them find the correct ends. also easier to connect the hoses to the rack and pinion with it off the truck, mine was a tight fit. good luck. you could also try buying a couple cheap bolts from the hardware and seeing which one fits. then youll know the size.

If you go to a local parts store with some info on the manufacture of the pump and rack (Mustang II ?) you can "borrow" hoses then match the fittings. You may get lucky and come up with pre-made hoses that work. You can always that them back for a refund.

I did what uk1050 suggested and took the rack off the truck and took it to and auto parts store near where i work and had the make me a piece of bent tubing with the correct fitting to fit the rack. I had a guy i know that has a business making hose assemblies on the job site. He stopped over to see what i needed to complete the assemblies. Should have something ext week.
The pressure fitting is 14mm and the return is 16mm. I could not get no limit to tell me that.
Total cost for both hose assemblies should not exceed $70.00. No limit wants $160.00 for a set.

It looks i am good to go to complete the rest of the assembly.

Thanks
Terry
