From: Where's my map???
Question Iac

Hello everyone,
New here. I have a 92 F150 4.9 I6 2wd.
I have no major problems with my baby. I have 134K on it. I get 17mpg around town with an AOD. Once in awhile she will idle a little funky. I pulled the IAC just to take a look. It's a little gooped up. Can I clean this with carb. cleaner or just replace it. Any thoughts?
TIA

They are cleanable with carb cleaner, I would take the solenoid off first (2 screws). It is cheaper than replacing one at $60-70 and you can always replace it later.

about 50% of the time they get better after cleaning,

the throttle body could probably use a cleaning.
