Brake Bleeding

I'm having a devil of a time bleeding my rear brakes.

I did not follow the chiltons book from the start and was trying to do it the way I have done my other vehicle.

I was not tighting the bleed valve before releasing the brake. I think I allowed air into the system.

Now I'm following the procedure laid out in Chiltons and I get no fluid coming out. I check the master cylinder and it doesn't look like it is loosing any of its fluid.

I'm at a loss.

The whole reason I started this mission was because the brakes felt soft. I had the master cylinder changed about 1 1/2 years back, could it be bad already.

Are you starting with the LR/RR then Rabs valve, FRR/FRL, ensure you fill the reservior after each wheel and snug the bleeder before releasing the pedal. Please put a 2x4 on the cab floor under the MC pedal so you do NOT bottom out and shove crud into the lines/brake cylinders.

Cylinder is full and the bleed valves are being openned 3/4 turn.

I did not have a 2x4 under the pedal as suggested, so I wonder if I pushed crud into my lines .

If I did clog my line, how do I clear the blockage?

I'm thinking a compressor.

Don't panick on the crud part, it was meant as a precaution only, not it will happen if ya don't scenario. Please put up a signature with truck info, different years different systems. Sometimes the rubber hoses will disintegrate internally and block the brake fluid........some block fluid out and some return fluid......check your rubber lines for cracks at attachement/crimp points and replace them if they are.
