F150 FX4 SCrew Filth Wheel
I think this post should go in the towing section, but I wanted to here from the F150 Drivers.
Has anyone installed a fithwheel hitch and towing a fithwheel travel trailer with a F150 SCrew 4x4?
I have 2005 F150 FX4 SCrew. 5.4L 3.73 gears. I am confident there is enough power and towing capacity with my set up, just curious about the set up with the 5 1/2 ft bed.
Thanks

Another option is to get an extended 5th wheel pin box on the trailer- this extends the hitch pin 2-3 feet ahead of the trailer, thus reducing the likelihood of contact between the trailer & truck. This is a fairly common solution for short-bed trucks hauling fivers (I had one once) and costs a fraction what a sliding hitch costs. They are usually available from the trailer manufacturer or RV dealer as an option.

You answered my question before I had a chance to ask it!
