Replacement Wiper Blades

I have never replaced my wiper blades until now and the replacement blades are 20 inches according to Bosch, but my factory stock ones on the truck are 22 inches.. Curious to know what you guys have. (the 22" work fine)

I put 22" Winter Blades on because they would clean a large area of the windshield...and because they would fit

24" , I think Bosco or something like that.

But 24" blades fit perfectly and wipe the whole window.

edit - Bosch, thanks to Dan!

Bosch part number for 22" blades is 40 922 if you want to get some.

I noticed too that the 20" blades don't wipe the whole window. Last replacement, I put some massive 26" blades on. They are a little big. The driver's side blade rests on the lower cowl just a bit, and causes some deforming. I will be replacing them soon with some 24" blades.

Oh, and I've used Bosh blades for years with excellent results. The Micor Edge Excel has been my blade of choice, but they have a new one out, the Icon (I think that's it) that I will be trying next.

damn jeremy, did you need to modify your wiper motor to push those 26'' hosses around?

i have 24" wipers, and they are good. a little sharkfin in the center about 2" high, and the other end has a whole lot more area to wipe.

I replaced mine with 21" blades. They were about a 1/2" longer than the original blades.

Ha ha...no, but it might need it. I did notice that the speed of the wipers slowed down a bit on high. I try not to run them on high though, becaus when I noticed the difference in speed, I figured it would be hard on the motor. The last thing I want to do is have my wiper motor go out.

I may sound a little biased, BUT, I only run OE FORD wipers. I have found that they work and last MUCH LONGER than any other brand. I know that they are probly made by the same company that sells them to the autoparts stores, but I think they are made diffrent or with better materials. I have been running the more expensive FORD brand wipers on both of my Ford vehicles. They have been on my mustang for 2 years now, and still wipe every bit as clean as they were new. After changing them on my truck 3 times with ansco and other parts store brands, I finally bit the bullet and actually had to order them from the dealer. they kept trying to get me to take the ansco brand. I finally told them how it was and 3 days leter, I have my FORD brand wipers. They have been fantastic since.

Jeffdoerr, that's a good point. I've seen top of the line Bosch blades start leaving rubber on the windshield after a long trip from Seattle to Portland in a constant downpour. (It gets pretty wet up here sometimes.) I think I'll try your idea.

That's pretty good Kwikk; you can even do burn-outs on your windshield.

would that be considered a "wipe-out?"

I agree with you about OE ford wipers, We recommend OE wipers blades to are Ford customers after they have there windshields replaced at our shop. New windshield = new wiper blades.
