8.8 axle differences

I read in another thread that an 8.8 from a van wouldn't work in an F-series. Wandering if this is really true and if so, why? Is the Bronco the same as an F-series or are they all the same. Just curious.

I think van axles are a bit narrower.

The Bronco is essentially a very short bed F150 with a big cab, and so with the exception of a few parts, mostly body, it's identical to the F150.

From what i was told doing research for my axle swap the E-series frame rails are actually wider. Was advised not to use an F-series axle on my van as the spring mounts would be too narrow. Never had an F-series to measure so don't hold me to it.

As for overall width, wheel to wheel? Have no idea..

Van frames can be up to 6 inches wider; depending on yr; stay away from swapping van housings with F series; you are asking for a lot of work;
