neutral safety switch
Van wouldn't start the other day. Wouldn't think a jump would work as all the lights and heater came on strong. Tried it anyway, but to no avail. Had problems starting earlier in the week, would only start in neutral. Do these sound like symptoms of a bad switch? Any help a +. Thanx.

yes, sounds like intermittent neutral safety switch aka shift lever position sensor
switch can fail or positioning needs to be adjusted
does it start ok in neutral but not in Park?
can test by jumpering wires red/lt. brn and white/pink on switch and seeing if problem goes away....if not=='s other wiring problems
