Thumbs down Axle Flop

I want to lower the rear of my f250 2wd to even it out. I've heard I can put the axle on top of the springs(axle flop). I've taken the shackles and spring off but don't see how its possible. The axle doesn't have shackle perches on the bottom. Is there something I am missing, please tell me. I tried to remove the load leaf, but that was a stupid mistake. I just don't like that California Rake look!

you need to weld new spring perches to the axle tube

Most perches are available from companies like DJM. I think the flip kit runs around $50, and then you would need to weld up the new perches.

Btw....that will give you about 5" of drop and you may run into frame clearance issues, especially if you haul anything or ride rough roads. In that case you would have to cut the frame and install a C notch. As a second option to remove the rake, just purchase the djm 2" drop shackle, bolt on and your done.

I'll answer...yes 5 inches! Your suspension travel will less than 2 inches when done.

Drop shackles and hangers is the way to go unless you notch the frame.

Where can I get dropped shackles and hangers from? How hard are they to install?
