Throttle Position Sensor
My tps was located on the underside of the housing where the air ducts meet the engine,it's was a little black plug..can't remember the color of the wires..but I had to remove the ducts, remove the housing that the tps is mounted on because mine was on the underside maybe yours isn't.
There should be two screws holding it on take note when removing the old, when taking it off you will notice a spring like twisting as you take it off..not a big deal just remember the position when removing it and put the new one on the same way..you will have to align the slots then twist a little to align the holes to screw the sensor to the housing.
It's not a hard job..remember to disconnect the battery before you start removing the sensor...after you are done and everything is back together, start your truck and let idle for 2-3 minutes for the computer to learn everything again.
Hope this helped.
Should also check it for having a steady increase in voltage without any voltage spikes throughout its movement.
You should be driving the vehicle in order for the computer to re-learn it's programming. Take it for a 10 minute drive and make sure it runs fine.
Ybuck, that housing you speak of is the throttle body. On all of these trucks, the TPS is underneath the TB.
There are coolant lines on the TB, be prepared with a small cup and I used the end of a gear lube bottle as a plug in the hoses to prevent extra coolant from coming out. Pickup a new gasket for the TB too.
