BED RUST

I am thinking about restoring a 1965 F-100. The bed is a styleside and has a lot of rust out in the floor.Does anyone make a new panel for the floor or would it be easier just to look for a better bed? The outside of the bed is pretty straight and rust free.

BED RUST

JC Whitney has repair patches that cover parts or 1/2 of the bed floor Check into repair if it is possible. Good luck - Nick

Por-15

after you patch it use POR-15 on it,,,,,, iv used it on all of my projects,,, and it works,,,,,, just make sure you use the metal prep first,,,,,, i bought a $30 paint gun, and spray it on,,,, the in the bed if you want you can paint it or get a bed liner put in it,,,,,,,,,,,, iv used it on frames, axles,, under side of jeep tubs,, in the tub,,,, iv sprayed in on an old gas tank, iv even jokinly sprayed it on some bucket seats i didnt want any more,, and i stayed there for over a year,,,,,,and every thing i used it on looked as good as new,,,,,,,,,http://www.por15.com/

Hey smokin, what you smoking today? I'll bet ol Russ will get a kick out of you answering his 9 year old post. If I remember correctly be bought another bed, and painted the truck red.

No panel available

I wrote Rick at Carolina Classics and got this reply:

"Thanks for your interest but right now money is tight because of a sluggish economy and we've not gotten a lot of interest although I know these parts aren't available. It may happen down the road (within the next couple of years maybe) but not any time soon. Sorry"

Now I guess I'll look for a full bed floor from another year.....
