Several 4x4 shops around town advised me not to go with a leveling kit such as autosprings because it puts a lot of pressure on the ball joints, something about the upper and lower arms need to be parallel and if there not the ball joints will be stressed. I looked at the king off road shocks and they are supposed to be good for a little bit of extra lift. Do they operate on the same princible? Or should it be a good bolt on? Thanks for the help.
Definately get what you pay for!
They are a little pricey, Camburg engineering has a set of front F-150 coilovers(about $300. cheaper I think), see 'em here:
There is no problem with the balljoints on either of these shocks or the autospring "spacer" method. By replacing the coilover you are upgrading to a better quality shock for improved performance. Also the King shocks are reservoir shocks to reduce fade. Went by King's shop about a week ago and I can only say they are as cool as the procucts they sell. Good luck and let us know when you decide.
I think before I spent 1000.00 on the camburg, I would spend 500 buck on the Skyjacker 3" lift with coil overs. JMO, but i have to say, the camburgs look like a well built product.
