Rear axle question
Saw a used SD on auto trader i might be interested in just a little bit 
The vin is 1FTWW33P85EA83898 It has all the option i would want but im just courious about the gears as in a 373, 373 posi, 410 430 etc... I ask the used sale person on the phone and he said " um...... Oooooh....um... no clue"
I searched and found the numbs listed but i cant figure out how you all are reading a 31 = 3.73 non-limited slip, C1 = 3.73 limited slip, 32 = 4.10 non-limited slip ,C2 = 4.10 limited slip, 33 = 4.30 non-limited slip , C3 = 4.30 limited slip...
unless its after the W33P in the vin, if so i guess this truck has the 4:30 no limited slip?

Rear end codes
I believe the numbers you are looking for will be on the Vehicle certification label, not in the VIN. Look for a sticker in glove box or door jamb. Not real sure where it would be on that particular truck.

I believe that you may be looking in the wrong place for the rear axle codes - they are not a part of your VIN. If I am not mistaken, they are located on the Vehicle Certification Label/Tag on one of your doors. On my 2003 F250, it was located on the driver side rear door. It appears that you are using the correct info to decipher the code, but for anyone else interested, here is the link:
