HELP mpg gone !

fuel filter drain was leaking on my 99 couple weeks ago so i put new o-rings in it had the fuel filter out while i was workin on it and after i put it back together no more leaks but mpgs went south too. anybody got any ideas?

Is it possible that your fuel bowl repair coincided with the stations changing over to winter fuel in your area?

I know my mileage takes a dive about this time of year when winter blend arrives.

This might sound like a stupid question, but are you figuring fuel usage while you had the leak? Or are you sure that you fixed ALL the leaks?

Let me ask you this, would Diesel Kleen help in this situation? It would be in the white container, right?

The white bottle has the anti-gel additive, use the grey bottle.

I had a similar situation, I started using the gray bottle of DK and so far im getting around 1.5 mpg better.

I havn't found any additive that will take my mileage on winter blend back up to what I get on summer fuel. It's simple, there's less energy in a gallon of winter blend, so mileage suffers.
