New Thread

Hey peoples, we gotta post up some more in here!

Sometimes a couple of days go by with no new posts, or even new threads. So let's just take a few moments from our day to stop by and say whatever's on your mind, good, bad or indifferent. Tell us if you bought new underwear (hey, I did...some of mine were older than some members here! ) or what the latest piece of gossip is from the old lady down the street, or even if you just feel the need to vent about the latest injustice dumped on you and yours.

Whatever the reason, we all have this Northern California location and a love for our Ford trucks as common ground, among other things so you know that you're gonna get some understanding and even sympathy here. We may not be nuts like our northern bretheren, but I still think we can pull off some interesting discussions and debates.

So let's see it guys and gals...Post, Post, Post!
What have you got to lose...?

Hey Dan, I wont bother ya'll with my trials this past couple of weeks, though I do want to thank those who offered well wishes to me and my family in our time of sorrow. You guys know who you are.
I was really down, and still am, but I'm pretty much back now. Nothing will ever be the same for me in my life, but I think I'm back in the FTE saddle. Sorry I stayed away so long. Just had things that I needed to take care of.
I'll be around. And I'll be back to my cynical self soon I'm sure.

You do what you gotta do, Tim. Y'know we're here for you, and I totally understand where you're coming from. And you know it's no bother. Feel free to PM me if you just want to talk. Stay strong, as impossible as that may seem at times.

I'm trying to get back on track. I'm at work right now as the wife figured I need to get back to normal. I guess I must have been a mess. I know I need to get right. Kristy wouldn't want me like I was at home. It's getting better but there still are serious downs. I'm trying to get right. Just need to focus on lighter things or I'll drink myself into a funk. I posted a new thread in response to this one.
Thanks Dan, T

I hope things are evening out for ya Tim. Some of the bumps in life hit a bit harder than others.

I finally finished the dual guage mod in my 88' Ranger 4x. Works well and is an interesting monitoring system as the mech guage measures manifold coolant temp and the idiot guage sort of measures pre thermo temp. Mech oil guage works well and the idiot guage shows stuff still works, like the guage and sender lol. But the truck is the wifes DD and she didn't like, nor did I, having to look at the mech guages behind the shifter, as if wife looks at guages anyway.
Oh and I put in exploder buckets and console with new sound liner under the carpet and a dash cap from Duff to cover up the cracked dash.
Next chore is to fix the fuel guage.

It's coming along. . .

If I can get the motivation to tear the parts truck i have apart, then I can probably fix the fuel guage and maybe start on the trailer project.
I did find a guy on Reno craigslist looking for gen 1 2x front running gear that has a 4x front end and transfer case, trying to get him to respond back to see if we can make a deal then i won't have a bunch of that stuff to haul off or try to give away.

Thats it for now I guess . . .

Rich

Ranger projects...I'm trying to get mine done by the middle of next month or so. Working on it every day after work, as well as weekends. Sometimes I get a lot done, and other times I spend a whole day fabricating one little part. I finally scrounged a driveshaft that I can make work, after I shorten it by 2 1/2 inches. That means I need my lathe working in order to do it right, and there's no power where my lathe sits right now (and it's 3-phase, so a generator won't cut it.) So I'm looking at running it off of an old Briggs 8-horse I have just to get this one job done. It won't be able to reverse, but I don't need that for this job. Tomorrow's project for after work. If it works, I'll take pics.
