I Have A 99 F250 7.3 And Having Trouble With Engine Cutting Out. It Starts Fine And Drives About A 1\4 Mile Or So Then No Throttle Response And Finally Stalls Out. It Will Start Back Up After A Few Cranks But Runs Like All Cylinders Are Not Firing, And Almost Seems Like Its Flooded Out But Clears Up And Run Fine.any Suggestions
Sounds like the cam sensor. I kind of had a problem like that. I would be driving along and the truck woukd stall, I'd push in the clutch and it would start up again.
If it is a cam sensor you tach will be dropping suddenly when it happens ( Faster than it is possible for that much mass to slow) and when you are trying to recrank the tach will not move. On a 99 you should see ~100rpm right before it cranks.
The "running on 4 cylinders" makes me think of the UVC's rather than the CPS.
Quik test: unplug driverside valve cover connector as try to crank, plug it back in and then unplug the Pass side connector. If it cranks on one side and not the other you need to inspect the side that doesnt crank UVC Harness and Gasket Connector.
If neither of them will crank post backon the tach moving during cranking and there are a few other test to do for the UVC's
